"Inside The Box" Couples Ministry
The "Inside The Box" couples ministry is a way to bless couples that attend a full day RINGS class with a personalized box lunch and hand-written note of encouragement. Who: Churches, Small Groups, Women's Groups, Families, Individuals What: The "Inside the Box" ministry partner selects one of the full-day Real Intimacy and Growth Skills (RINGS) classes (see upcoming schedule) to provide box lunches for the couples in attendance. MRCMV provides the boxes! The "Inside the Box" ministry partner provides for each couple (usually 8-10 couples):
We would also ask that the boxes be delivered to the RINGS class location on that day and for a commitment to pray for the class, the facilitators and the couples in attendance Time: Estimate 1/2 hour per box prep time plus delivery time Investment: Cost of food |
Invest in the Power of 2
Power of 2 is an ongoing approach to raising up and supporting healthy marriages champions. A broad base of community participation and investment keeps resources accessible and affordable. It has been estimated that the cost of a single marriage failure to taxpayers is $30,000. This cost includes welfare, food stamps, child support enforcement, etc. Thus, funding that supports the strengthening of marriages and families actually saves taxpayers money. Who: Anyone who cares about the cause of healthy marriages and relationships What: Three main "on-ramps", or ways of participating in the cause are praying, serving and giving Time: Variable depending on schedule and interests of champions Investment: Suggested $22/month as a "share"; multiple shares can be committed |
Sign and support the Miami Valley Healthy Marriage Policy
This policy expresses the common concerns of the faith community regarding the need to better prepare, strengthen and restore marriages and to support step-families in the Miami Valley. The Community Marriage Policy® concept is articulated by Mike and Harriet McManus, founders of Marriage Savers. Who: Clergy and community leaders who care about the cause of healthy marriages and relationships What: A solidarity agreement that raises the standard of marriage with commitments to provide resources that prepare, strengthen and restore couples Time: Variable depending on schedule and interests of champions |
Hot Topics Networking
A regular (usually quarterly) gathering of marriage champions who are interacting with couples for the purpose of healthy relationships. Who: Marriage ministry leaders, mentor couples, counselors, clergy -- especially for those who interact regularly with couples What: A time of hearing regional updates on the cause of healthy marriages, hearing the marriage stories and ministry profiles of leaders, praying for marriage health Time: Usually a two hour time together, beginning with dinner, then the scheduled speaker(s) |
